Actually had a nice day...

...for once. Dad has had a rough few days and last night he was in sheer agony. It was a hellish day for him. Toni and Eddie came by to visit and it seems like right after they left, all hell broke loose. We were just not able to get his pain under control and wound up calling the doctor. We increased his patch and other meds but he still had a real bad day and night. Today he was in some pain but it was tolerable and he rested comfortably for most of the day.

I drove into the city with Sherry today to pick something up. We had some laughs and it was nice. I waited in the car so we didn't have to worry about parking and when we were done, I drove her a few blocks down to Sloan so she could visit Cindy for a while. Again I waited in the car because parking is a nightmare and I didn't want her to have to pay for parking. She came out and we headed back to the island. All in all, it was a nice day. Its always nice when dad is not suffering and it is always nice when I get to spend time with Sherry. We seem to have a calming effect on one another. God knows we need that.

I want to thank Eve for her comment. It was very sweet of you to take the time to read my ramblings. You are right... this is a good way to vent. I will keep it up as much as I can.

I will be going away on Friday with Sherry for my birthday. A few days away will do us both some good. I spoke to my brother Mark and he will be picking up some of the slack while I'm gone. Truthfully I am weary of leaving mom and dad alone for 2 days especially because my other brother who lives downstairs is not going to be here on Saturday but Mark lives 2 minutes from here and my aunt is that close too. I hope Mark will be here as much as he can and i prey everything will be just fine.
